April 2008

Heather and I just enjoyed her spring break recently. I took a couple of days off and instead of going out of town and spend lots of money on gas or airplanes I thought it would be fun to do a few things around here. The first day we picked up her cousins Trevor, Marcus and Jerrick and we went to the zoo. We went to a small zoo but it has white tigers and there's a big platform you can climb up and feed the giraffes. You can feed birds and they land on you and eat out of your hand. The animals are much closer than the Phoenix zoo. The next day I got Heather all dressed up and took her to the mall to get her picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Then we went on a picnic at Papago Park. Then we went to the Desert Botical Garden. At this time of year they have a butterfly exhibit and there are hundreds of them flying around. One landed on Heather (after an hour of trying to convince her they were not scarry) and she was quite proud of herself. The last day we went to breakfast, went to the movie Horton Hears a Who and then went shopping at the mall. Heather loves to shop, I'm in trouble when she's a teenager. It was a fun vacation for the two of us and we hope to do it again soon.
